It has been pretty exciting times when the trip to Mexico for on-the-job-training has started getting real and close. All the dates has been set and tickets “there and back again” are bought.. Accomodations has also been booked.

You propably are wondering why or how come into Mexico… Well, in the fall 2021 our teacher asked if anyone was interested in on-the-job-training in Mexico. I haven’t ever before been in any studyexhange or on-the-job-training abroad, which has bummed me. For that it was easy for me answer to teachers question without hesitation.. Training takes in place in Mexico’s biggest indoor climbing center and wellness services providing company RockSolid (www.rocksolid.mx). In short, my job is to make content in social media. So it fits the bill for me..

Usually the training or studyexchange needs some contact to make it possible. In my case the CEO is our study guides brother. The common language helps also the school in giving evalution criteries.

It has taken a lot of planning ahead. Firstly things concerning travelling there, what and how much I am allowed to take delicate camera stuff as Carry on so that all the gear will be with me when I arrive in Mexico. In this context I searched the physically biggest  carry on bag possible that goes on the flights there and back. Also the need for Visas and travelling notifications had to be searched for. Luckily a lot of things cleared when Finnair sent notification email from upcoming trip.. Oh, and ofcourse the vaccinations had to be checked.

On top of all that I have had to figure out all the stuff that has to be taken care of while being in Mexico ea our dear pets, house so it stays warm and possible need to add woodpellet (luckily there’s electric heater as backup), mails, watering the flowers.. Also important is to know how I manage to stay in contact in home ea mobile connection, is there Wifi in hand, do I need datapackage.. It seems that it is best to buy a prepaid from local kiosk..

The flight takes about 10 hours with one change in Dallas.. The shortnes of the flight came as a small surprice. Earlier I thought that it would take more like 20 hours.. So pretty fast in my opinion.. In there in addition to the training I am going to write this blog. Most likely in vlog form also.. And I challenge myself into making 1 vid/day for my TikTok account.. No quality quarantee, but at least different sets.

There are a few things that I am waiting from the trip. I want to see the Mayan ruins, see the epic Cenotes and get to know for the almost wild food culture.. Also the scuba diving licence is one big thing!! And for that I getting more out of the Cenotes!

First accomodation is pretty simple place where the first week goes easily. There is also welcoming commitee on the gates, two dogs!! In Merida the place is just glorious! Big private rooms, huge common lounge with pooltable and swimming pool outside.. Muy fantastico!

Our flight leaves on tuesday 25th of which I am already waiting pretty anxiously.. I’ll keep you up to date!

Pero no puedo nada, ahora arriba, packing continues..
